Trend is up for ACCAC in NJCAA national rankings

The trend was definitely up for ACCAC schools in NJCAA rankings for the week of Oct. 1-6.

In women's soccer Pima jumped from unranked to #19 after wins over Phoenix and Glendale. That lifted the Aztecs to 8-3 on the year.

The PCC men's team, however, slipped from seventh to eighth following a 1-0 loss to Phoenix that dropped Pima to 8-2-1. Arizona Western and Yavapai both jumped from the others receiving votes list to top 20 rankings. AZW beat Glendale and Phoenix to vault to #13 with a 10-2-1 record. Yavapai re-entered the top 20 following wins over Chandler-Gilbert and Mesa and is now 17th. The Roughriders are 10-3.

Division II volleyball saw three conference teams improve. Glendale's only match of the week was a 3-2 squeaker over Mesa and helped the Gauchos (17-2) move up one spot to #3. The loss didn't even hurt MCC. It was also the T-Birds' only contest of the week and left them with a 12-5 mark. They jumped one spot in the rankings to #16. Meanwhile, Scottsdale won three times, including league wins over Pima and Arizona Western, extending its winning streak to ten in a row and its record to 13-4. SCC improved from 14th to 12th
