Little movement in basketball polls

  There were only small changes in the NJCAA national basketball rankings for the week ending Jan. 12.

  In women's Division I, Central Arizona rose one spot to #13 after improving to 14-3, 9-0 with victories over Glendale 108-38 and Phoenix, 80-47.

 In women's Division II Mesa (11-5, 8-1) inched up one spot to #15 after road wins at Eastern Arizona, 67-60, and Scottsdale, 50-35. Meanwhile Pima (12-4, 6-3) remained at #18. The Aztecs beat South Mountain, 57-42, and Chandler-Gilbert, 77-60.

  Among the men, Eastern Arizona and Arizona Western both remained among others receiving votes. EAC (15-2, 7-2) beat Mesa, 70-66, and Tohono O'odham, 87-69. AZW (12-5, 6-3) split two games, falling to Phoenix, 88-81, but then topping Glendale, 95-89.

  Scottsdale (15-2, 7-2) saw its nine-game winning streak come to an end in triple overtime at Tohono O'odham, 106-98, but then defeated Mesa, 70-60. SCC slipped two places in the Division II poll to #14.
