Yavapai chooses Jason Herbers as Major Gifts Officer for Athletics

The Yavapai College Foundation announces the latest addition to our team. In support of the fund-raising efforts of Roughrider Athletics, YCF has added an Athletics Major Gifts Officer.

Jason Herbers has joined Yavapai College in November 2020.  Jason brings over 21 years of experience in higher education and intercollegiate athletics focused extensively on fundraising and revenue generation to support the student-athlete experience.

He most recently served as Athletic Director at Williston State and prior to WSC, as Development Officer for the College of Liberal Arts and Education at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.

Jason has served in a variety of positions throughout intercollegiate athletics.  He spent three years at the University of Minnesota-Morris as Director of Athletics and served as Associate Athletics Director in charge of development and operations at Dixie State University (St. George, Utah) from 2010-15.  Additionally, Jason held athletics leadership roles at Eastern Washington and Utah State University.

A native of Wisconsin, Jason earned his bachelor's degree in exercise science (emphasis in sports management, with a business administration minor) from the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse.  He earned his master's degree in physical education with an emphasis in sports administration from Eastern Washington.

When he is not working, Jason can be found enjoying the outdoors, attending concerts, listening to great music, playing sports and spending time with family and friends.
