Two repeats winners among the women, and one in men's basketball, are the ACCAC Players of the Week for Feb. 3-9.
Ayanna Clark, of Central Arizona, was named the Division I women's honoree for the fifth consecutive time and sixth overall. The 6-3 sophomore from Long Beach Poly H.S. in Long Beach, Calif., averaged 17.0 points and 12.5 rebounds in CAC's latest two wins. She shot an amazing 15-19 (.789) from the floor, and had four assists, four blocks and three steals at the Vaqueras defeated Tohono O'odham and South Mountain.
The women's Division II honoree is Mesa's Zyan Smith, the second weekly honor for her. She had a 15.5 scoring average, as well as 14.0 rebounds per game as the T-Birds beat Arizona Western and lost to Cochise. In addition, she had four steals, two assists and two blocks. She is a 5-9 freshman from Queen Creek, AZ, and Mesquite H.S.
The men's Division I winner is Central Arizona's Brenton Woods. He is a 6-2 freshman from Compton, Calif., and Scale Prep H.S. In wins over Tohono O'odham and South Mountain he averaged 17.0 points, going 14-26 (.538) from the field. He also had a total of 17 assists, 13 rebounds and six steals.
Xavier Fuller is the men's Division II Player of the Week. He was named for the sixth time this season after averaging 24.0 points and 9.0 rebounds as SCC defeated Phoenix, but lost to Pima. The 6-5 sophomore from Mesa, AZ, was 19-37 (.514) from the floor and had six assists and four steals.
