Yavapai, at 5-0, leads ACCAC men's soccer

  Still a week and a half away from the start of the conference season, Yavapai has the top overall ACCAC men's soccer record at the conclusion of play Sept. 2-8.

  The Roughriders, ranked No. 10, blasted eighth-ranked Southern Nevada, 5-1, on the road in their only contest last week as Gavin Tinsley scored twice improving YC to 5-0.

  No. 3 Pima stayed unbeaten, with a tie, at 3-0-1, after stopping GateWay, 5-0, and South Mountain, 13-0, as Josh Allison scored a total of four goals.

  Phoenix got two shutouts, over Chandler-Gilbert, 3-0, and Mesa, 5-0, with three different keepers sharing the shutouts. The Bears are 3-1.

  Mesa is at 3-1 after splitting two matches. It defeated Chandler-Gilbert, 2-1, before falling to PC. CGCC also has a 3-1 mark following a 3-0 win over Scottsdale.

  In addition, Arizona Western has won three straight, the two most recent being 18-1 over South Mountain and 7-3 against GateWay. The Matadors are now 3-1-1.
