Phoenix, Mesa unbeaten in ACCAC women's soccer

  Conference matches won't begin until Sept. 19, but four teams are sitting above .500 after play from Sept. 2-8.

  Mesa and Phoenix have yet to lose, but both have ties on their records. Those two played to a 1-1 tie Saturday. Lydiana Tavizon scored for PC with 46 seconds left to play on a penalty kick to salvage the tie. Berkeley Larsen had given the T-Birds the lead in the 74th minute. The Bears are now 2-0-2 while MCC holds a 3-0-1 record. Mesa's Rebekah Norris made eight saves in the contest while PC's Alyssa Bayus had seven.

  Chandler-Gilbert stands at 3-1 after splitting two matches. The Coyotes fell to Phoenix, 2-1 in double overtime, and defeated Glendale, 12-0. In the PC match, the Bears' Tu Nguyen got the game-winner just ten seconds into the second OT.

  Paradise Valley is 3-2-1 after winning twice. The Pumas got two close wins last week. A Paola Sanchez goal in the second OT was all the scoring in a 1-0 win over Scottsdale. PVCC got the first two goals at Cochise and held off the Apaches, 2-1.
