Scottsdale Yavapai headed for Wednesday showdown

  Scottsdale and Yavapai continued their winning streaks in ACCAC volleyball and increased their lead in the conference standings.

  With no losses the two now have a two-match advantage over Glendale heading into the final week and a half of regular-season play.

  Scottsdale, ranked No. 8 in DII, ran its overall winning streak to 15 with a 3-0 victory over Mesa and grabbed a non-conference win over the Benedictine JV by the same score. Jazmyn Wheeler pounded out 20 kills in the MCC match and had 15 more versus BenU. SCC is now 18-4 and 11-0.

  Yavapai has now won 11 straight after 3-0 triumphs over Glendale and Park. The Roughriders are now 17-2 and 8-0 and is #18 in DI. Kennedy Wright had 13 kills in the GCC match and 17 more against Park.

  Those two collide Wednesday in Scottsdale. YC also plays Arizona Western twice this weekend in Yuma.

  Glendale rebounded from the YC loss with a 3-0 win over Chandler-Gilbert as Breanna Allen supplied 17 kills. The Gauchos, ranked No. 3 in DII, are now 20-3 and 9-2.
