The all-ACCAC/Region I women's basketball awards have been announced with regular season champion Eastern Arizona taking two of the three major awards.
Central Arizona's Denali Hughes was named Player of the Year, while EAC's Catarina Ferriera was chosen as Freshman of the Year and Cameron Turner Coach of the Year.
Hughes led the conference with a 22.3 scoring average heading into the regional playoffs. That is also fifth in the nation in the NJCAA. She is also second in the league in rebounding at 9.2 per game.
Ferriera is third in the ACCAC with a 13.7 average and sixth with 5.9 rebounds per contest.
Turner led the Gila Monsters to a 14-2 overall record, 10-2 in conference action.
