Yuma, AZ - For the second straight year, the Arizona Western men's and women's soccer teams have won the NJCAA Region I, Div. I titles.

The AWC men's team defeated the Yavapai Roughriders by a score of 2-1. All three goals were scored in the second half, as the Matadors took a 2-0 lead in the 69th minute. The Roughriders scored in the 82nd minute to close the gap by one, but AWC was able to hold on for the win.

The Matadors will travel to Ephraim, Utah, to face off against the Snow College Badgers this Saturday, Nov. 5th in the NJCAA Div. I West District Championship.

The AWC women's team defeated the Cochise Apaches by a score of 5-0 to remain unbeaten this season. AWC scored their goals in the 10th, 53rd, 56th, 61st, and 82nd minutes as their goalkeeper, Tia Kelk, kept the Apaches scoreless.

The lady Matadors will host the NJCAA Div. I West District Championship this Saturday, Nov. 5th, as they will go up against the Salt Lake Community College Bears.
