Phoenix, AZ - The Phoenix College men's and women's soccer teams both won the NJCAA Region I, Div. II titles in exciting fashion over the Pima Aztecs.
In the men's game, the Aztecs scored first in the 18th minute, but the Bears were able to even it up in the 55th minute as the rest of regulation went scoreless. The teams remained tied after double overtime and so they went to a penalty-kick shootout, where Phoenix won 4-3 to claim the region title.

The Phoenix College women's team also defeated Pima in a penalty-kick shootout. Both teams didn't score throughout all of the regulation and overtime periods. In PKs, the lady Bears were also able to prevail, winning 3-1.

Pima's men's and women's teams will both have to wait to see if they'll qualify for the NJCAA Div. II National Tournament as an at-large team. The selection show is set for Monday, November 7th.
