The first week of ACCAC baseball is in the books and three teams took both of their opening games.
Pima (13-0, 2-0) remains unbeaten overall after taking two from Arizona Wester, 7-6 and 15-12. The Aztecs won the opener in the seventh with a pair of Matador errors contributing. For AZW Julian Salazar was 3-4 with a pair of RBIs. In game two, Delano Selassas and Oliver Frias each had three hits for Western.
Central Arizona (9-2-2, 2-0) took two from Paradise Valley, 2-1 and 6-4. Mat Olson went 6.2 innings on the mound for CAC in the opener, allowing just two hits and one unearned run. Shane Spencer got the save. Preston Godfrey had a huge game for the Vaqueros in the nightcap going 4-5 with three driven in. Eddie Niemann had a pair of hits, including a double, for the Pumas.
Cochise (9-3, 2-0) took two from Eastern Arizona, 2-0 and 5-3. In game one, two pitchers from each team, Nate Rohlicek and Kyle Morrison for CC and Seth Chavez and Joseph Luna for EAC, limited both teams to a combined four hits. Donnie Musgrove and Cameron Pehrson each had a pair of hits for the Apaches in game two. Jorge Olague homered and drove in two for the Gila Monsters.
