After the second week of conference play, Central Arizona is the only unbeaten team in ACCAC baseball. And the Vaqueros are literally unbeaten having won all 16 of their games for the entire season, including six in conference play.

  CAC swept league doubleheaders from Cochise and Scottsdale last week.

  Against Cochise, Central won 3-1 in the seven-inning first game and 7-3 in the nightcap. In the opener, Omid Hunter went the distance on the mound for CAC, scattering seven hits. Eduarny Martinez had two hits for CC.

  In game two, J.D. McClaughlin led the way with two hits, including a triple, and had two RBIs. Cameron Crotte paced the Apaches with three hits.

  Central then took two from Scottsdale, 7-1 in seven innings and 11-3, Leadoff hitter Tyler Griggs went 3-3 with a double and three RBIs. SCC saw Andy Kupec deliver two singles.

  Game two saw McLaughlin deliver three hits, one a triple, and drive in three. Kiko Romero added a pair of hits and RBIs. Luke Hyzdi paced the Artichokes with three hits, including a triple, and knocked in two.

  Five teams are knotted with 4-2 league marks. South Mountain (7-3 overall), Arizona Western, (12-4), Chandler-Gilbert (7-4), Yavapai (7-3) and Glendale (5-5) all share a piece of second place.
