Yavapai and Central Arizona will meet Friday in the winner's bracket of the West District, double-elimination baseball tournament.
YC topped Southern Nevada, 16-13, and CAC beat Western Nebraska, 13-4, on the first day of the event being played in Prescott.
Central pounded out 12 hits in its win. Jake Jarvis had two of the Vaqueros' five home runs and had four RBIs, Preston Godfrey, J.D. McLaughlin, and Dayton Dooney all had two hits and drove in two with McLaughlin and Dooney adding homers, as did Devon Dixon.
The Roughriders pulled out a wild one. Noah Turley led the way with three hits, one of which was a home run, and added three RBIs. C.J. Valdez, Travis Warinner, Daniel Martin Alton Gyselman all contributed a pair of hits each. Damone Hale and Amari Bartee each homered.
