Cochise moved into a statistical tie with Arizona Western in ACCAC men's basketball with an 82-72 win at home.

  The Apaches improve their league record to 3-1. AZW is 6-2. CC got 18 points, on 6-9 shooting, by Stephen Byard. Brian Rios added 11 and Patrick Samoura hauled in 15 rebounds. Malik Salahuddin's 30-point effort went for naught for AZW.

  Earlier in the week the Matadors trimmed Central Arizona, 75-63, as Evan Butts led the way with 18 points. Marquis Hargrove came off the bench to add 16 as Leo Gerardo added 14. CAC was paced by Jalen Menzies with a game-high 21. Shakiel Bertrand contributed 15.

  Also earlier in the week Cochise blasted Eastern Arizona, 118-70, with three players topping the 20-point mark. Rios led with 23, Johnathan Garcia added 22 and Byard contributed 20. EAC got 12 from Jackson Gowdy.
