The ACCAC men's basketball race draws to a close this week with Cochise and Arizona Western battling for the top spot.

  Cochise concluded its regular season with an 83-61 victory over Central Arizona on the road. Stephen Byard poured in 23 points, hitting 10 of 11 from the floor. Jonathan Garcia collected 19, going 6-10 himself, as the Apaches shot a blistering .564 (31-55) from the floor. Patrick Samoura helped out with ten rebounds. CAC got 16 points from Jalen Menzies, 15 from Brenton Woods and 14 off the bench from Noah Self.

  In the meantime, Arizona Western, 7-2 in league play and 10-2 in all contests, has been idle since a non-conference win over Community Christian on March 16. AZW is scheduled to host Central Wednesday in the season's last regular season game. A win would draw the Matadors into a tie for first place with Cochise .
