ACCAC goes 22-4 in first week of non-conference action

   ACCAC men's basketball got off to a blazing start with a combined 22-4 record against non-conference competition in the opening week.

  Four teams, Central Arizona, Cochise, Eastern Arizona and Pima all won three times with Arizona Western and Glendale taking two wins apiece and Chandler-Gilbert and Scottsdale once each.

  CAC's Jamison Epps had the top scoring game for the Vaqueros with a 29-point effort in a 70-62 victory over Dream City Post Grad. Cochise averaged 131.0 points in its three wins including a 143-76 triumph over Northland Pioneer College in which seven players scored in double figures. Eight were in double digits in a 132-50 win over Taylor Made Post Grad. EAC got a high of 25 from Mohamed Niang during a 109-62 win over Benedictine Mesa JV. Pima averaged 122.3 as it won three times.

  There will be another week of non-conference action, with league play starting Wednesday, Nov. 17.
