Three still unbeaten in ACCAC men's basketball play

  The ranks of the unbeaten in conference play were thinned to three in ACCAC men's basketball during a short, holiday, week last week. Glendale, Cochise and Arizona Western have not lost in league play,

  Actually, GCC has not lost at all, with an 8-0 record overall. The Gauchos ran their conference mark to 3-0 with a 91-81 win at home over Eastern Arizona. Eric Blackwell led Glendale with 19 points while Adam Hamilton tossed in 16, Tyrese Eugene 14 and Greg Butler 10. EAC was paced by Corey Boston who popped in 22 with Zavian Jackson providing a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Cochise, 9-1 overall, handed Central Arizona (7-1) its first loss in a 93-64 home win. Stephen Byard hit 10 of 16 shots and scored 25 points while Jay Rodgers came off the bench to make 8-12 in scoring 21. Oscar Cluff added a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. CAC got 17 points from Simeon Richardson-Collins.

  Arizona Western remains 2-0 in ACCAC play and 9-2 in all games, after taking a week off from league action but winning three times against non-conference action. Yaxel Lendeborg scored 16 and added ten boards in an 85-60 victory over Community Christian. Evan Butts led the way in a 71-66 triumph over North Idaho with 22 points, including going 6-11 on three-pointers. Finally, the Matadors stopped Gray's Harbor, 80-57, with Butts dropping in 11 and three others ten each.
