South Mountain claimed the Region I Men's Golf Championship, finishing at +1 across four rounds to secure the team title. The Cougars opened with a tournament-best -12 in round one and held off late pushes from the field to finish on top.
Mesa placed second at +34, followed by Chandler-Gilbert who finished in third at +45 and Paradise Valley taking fourth at +64.
Chandler-Gilbert's Max Palmer earned individual medalist honors at -7. Palmer was consistent throughout the event, posting rounds of 69-73-71 before closing with a 68 in the final round to pull away.
South Mountain placed two golfers inside the top three, led by Quinton Breuer in second at -4 (68-71-72-73) and Hudson Ross in third at -2 (70-71-71-74). PJ Segerstrom added a T-5 finish at +3, giving South Mountain three golfers inside the top five.
Mesa was led by Kush Shah, who finished fourth overall at +2. Shah rebounded with a strong third-round 69 after opening rounds of 75 and 74, closing even in the final round. Tanner Thompson added a seventh-place finish at +7, highlighted by a steady final-round 72.
South Mountain's depth proved to be the difference, placing multiple golfers near the top of the leaderboard and maintaining separation after the opening round to secure the Region I title.
