Arizona Western knocked off defending national champion Pima on penalty kicks to capture the NJCAA Region I championship Saturday.
The Matadors will now move on to the West District Tournament Nov. 8 at a site to be determined.
The contest ended in a 0-0 tie after two OTs, making the shootout necessary to determine the champions.
