Pima, AZ Western, both eliminated in NJCAA soccer championship

Pima and Arizona Western were both eliminated Wednesday from the NJCAA Division I National Soccer Championship in pool play.

PCC, seeded third, had to sit and wait for the result of the Eastern Florida State-Essex Co., match which determined its fate. After falling to EFS Monday, 1-0, the Aztecs bounced back for a 4-2 win over Essex. However, Pima needed Essex to win, and by less than four goals, but it fell, 1-0, as Eastern Florida scored at the 10:26 mark and made it stand up.

  PCC closed the season 15-4-2.

AZW, the #7 seed, dropped its second game in Pool B to #2 Louisburg, 4-1. Down 2-0 in the second half, AZW's Erik Ibarra scored in the 60th minute on an assist from Ridwane Boukraa, but the Matadors could get no closer. They ended their season 14-7-3.
