April is not normally college soccer season, but in this mixed-up year the ACCAC has kicked off its season with four conference games already having been played.
Arizona Western, Chandler-Gilbert, Phoenix and Pima all won their respective conference openers.
AZW actually ran its record to 3-0 in all matches with non-league wins over Southern Nevada, 3-2, in overtime and 6-3 against Snow. Michele Signorelli hit the game winner against Southern Nevada in the 95th minute.
Then, the Matadors began ACCAC play with a 2-0 win at Glendale. Hirotaka Sugishita gave AZW the initial lead and then Ridwane Boukraa connected just 40 seconds into the second period.
Chandler-Gilbert picked up its first win as Michael Johansson scored midway through the first half for the game's only goal. Justin Zimmerman made nine saves getting the shutout.
Phoenix was led by Paul Molinares who collected a hat trick during an 8-0 triumph over GateWay. Brian Machado added two more goals for the Bears and Carlos Gallardo made two saves in recording the shutout.
Pima topped Yavapai, 4-1, in its season opener. The Aztecs scored all four goals in the first half as Brian Vu, Seungeon Kim, Manuel Quiroz and Francisco Manzo tallied. Tucker Fenton scored YC's goal.
