The ACCAC kicked off the 2021 men's soccer season with three wins and no losses over the weekend.
Yavapai got two of the victories in convincing fashion, topping Southern Nevada, 3-1, and California Community Christian, 7-0.
The Roughriders broke open a 1-1 halftime tie against Southern Nevada with two goals in the early part of the second half to give new head coach Andre Luciano a win in his first game. Ezakiel Anaya broke the tie in the 58th minute and Duada Woodruff added a clincher just four minutes later. Carlos Nunez had given YC the lead in the seventh minute.
Yavapai then out-shot CCC, 12-0, with Jesse Maldonado netting two goals.
Arizona Western opened 2021 play with a 5-2 win over Southern Nevada on the road.
The Matadors scored four times in the second half after CSN took a 2-1 lead with a goal early in the second period. Five different players scored for AZW, with Lachian Brooks adding an assist to his goal.
