Arizona Western kept its record perfect at 18-0 and will move on to District play as the Region I, DI, men's soccer champions following a 2-0 win over Yavapai in the championship game Friday.
AZW scored once in each half. In the opening period Romaric Bernaron connected on a penalty kick less than six minutes after the start of the game. Michele Signorelli then hit at the 58:59 mark for the final tally.
Matador goalkeeper Atsuki Sato was not forced to make any saves in preserving the shuout.
