Arizona Western has advanced to the semi-final round of the NJCAA Division I Men's Soccer Championship with a 3-2 win over Cowley (Kan.) Wednesday.
The Matadors will play top-seeded Salt Lake (18-0) at 2 p.m. MST Friday. AZW is seeded seventh and is 20-1.
Western jumped to a 2-0 halftime lead on goals by Romaric Berneron (3:38) and Hugo Catherine (35:56).
But Cowley (18-1) scored twice in a span of barely three minutes early in the second half to draw even.
Ridwan Boukraa nailed what proved to be the game-winner at the 59:37 mark and AZW held on for the win.
