Arizona Western is headed to the NJCAA DI Men's Soccer Championship game after a 2-0 win over top-seeded Salt Lake Friday.
The Matadors will meet third-seeded Iowa Western in the championship game Saturday at 5 p.m. MST.
AZW, the No. 7-seed, scored both of its goals in the first half. Michael Signorelli gave Western a quick lead with a goal just 3:15 from the start of play. Haruki Nishimura then found the net at the 21:34 mark.
Atsuki Sato stopped all five Bruins' shots as total shots on goal was a 5-5 tie. The Matadors are now 21-1. SLCC finishes 17-1.
