Pima made all five of its penalty kicks is a PK shootout and claimed the NJCAA DII Men's Soccer championship Saturday over top-seeded Community College Baltimore County – Essex after the two teams played to a 2-2 tie.
When Francisco Manzo connected on PCC's fifth straight penalty the Aztecs had the title in a 5-4 shootout.
Manzo was also responsible for giving Pima a quick lead, just 2:46 into the contest. However, CCBC scored twice in the first half to grab a 2-1 margin.
Just before halftime Minho Cha tallied at the 44:38 mark to tie the game and that is how it remained through the second half and two overtimes.
Pima finishes its season with an 18-1-2 record. CCBC suffered its first defeat of the year, going 19-1-1.
