The two hosts for the Region I tournaments have been set in, but there is still one battle for positioning that still rages as the final week of the regular season approaches.
In Division I, Yavapai has wrapped up the top seed with a 48-3, 40-2 record. Meanwhile, Phoenix will host the Division II tournament with its 40-6, 34-6 mark.
YC will close the regular season with just two games, visiting Eastern Arizona Tuesday. In DII, PC has four contests left, but with a wide lead over second place South Mountain (32-22, 23-19). PC will host Scottsdale Friday and visit Paradise Valley Saturday to wrap things up.
The battle for seeding is the No. 2 slot In Division I where Central Arizona and Eastern Arizona are tied with 34-6 conference marks. CAC travels to Arizona Western Tuesday and EAC hosts Yavapai that same day. Then, the two deadlocked teams wrap up the season Saturday on the Vaqueras' field.
The fourth slots will belong to Pima (17-23, 17-23).
In Division II, the second seed is in the hands of South Mountain which has only two contests left Saturday at Scottsdale.
Chandler-Gilbert (18-26, 17-25) has only two left as well, entertaining Scottsdale Tuesday and will have the No. 3 seed, while Glendale (16-28, 14-26) will be the fourth seed and this week will finish with Mesa at home Tuesday and Pima on the road Saturday.
