It took nine innings, but seventh-seeded McLennan defeated second-seeded Yavapai, 4-3, in the NJCAA Division I Softball championship Wednesday night.
Later in the evening the Roughriders defeated Southern Idaho, 3-0, as Yaya Kaaialli hit a home run and Emily Darwin and Emily Dix shraed the shutout.
Earlier in the day McLennan scored on a single by pitcher Hailey Hudson.
The Roughriders got home runs from Mia Weckel and Jasmine Moreno, but it wasn't quite enough.
No. 2-seeded Yavapai will play No. 4 Seminole State at about 2:00 p.m.
Phoenix, meanwhile, defeated Delaware Tech 8-0 in six innings. Teagen Dobson, Jenna Huey and Bella Angelo all homered for the Bears who and will now meet seventh-seeded Kirkwood Thursday at at about 4:00p.m. Arizoma time.
