ACCAC Track & Field Athletes of the Week - Week 6

Men's Track Athlete of the Week

Michael Valenzuela – Mesa Community College
Valenzuela ran a personal-record 1:18.9 to finish fourth overall on the elite side of the 600 meters at the Don Kirby Invitational. The performance moves him to No. 12 nationally in NJCAA Division I for the 2026 indoor season.


Women's Track Athlete of the Week

Mickayla Gardener – Central Arizona College
Gardner clocked a personal-record 23.3 seconds to place second overall in the unseeded section of the 200 meters at the Don Kirby Invitational. She also posted a 7.39 in the 60 meters, just .04 off her personal best set the previous week. Gardner now ranks No. 3 nationally in NJCAA Division I in both events for the 2026 indoor season. This marks Gardener's third ACCAC Women's Track Athlete of the Week award this season. 


Men's Field Athlete of the Week

Michael Mickelson – Mesa Community College
Mickelson cleared 4.88 meters (16 feet) in the pole vault, finishing first in the B section at the Don Kirby Invitational. The mark sits just below his personal best of 4.93m and keeps him ranked No. 4 nationally in NJCAA Division I this indoor season. This marks Mickelson's second ACCAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week award this season. 


Women's Field Athlete of the Week

Maleah Tucker – Mesa Community College
Tucker recorded a personal-best 17.74 meters (58' 2.5") in the weight throw, finishing seventh overall at the Don Kirby Invitational. The throw improved her previous mark by over five inches and moved her up to No. 2 nationally in NJCAA Division I for the 2026 indoor season. This marks Tucker's fourth ACCAC Women's Field Athlete of the Week award this season.
