Pima Sweeps Team Titles at ACCAC Track & Field Championships

Pima Community College captured both the men's and women's team championships at the ACCAC Track & Field Championships, highlighting a meet filled with strong performances across the conference.

The Aztecs used depth on both sides to secure the sweep, with event wins and scoring finishes across sprints, distance, hurdles, and field events. Central Arizona, Mesa, and Glendale also produced multiple individual champions in a highly competitive championship setting.

On the track, Glendale's Jacoby Lamar claimed the men's 100-meter title (10.58), while Central Arizona's Arianna Carry won the women's 100 (11.72). In the men's 110m hurdles, Mesa's Jonathan Korolsky took the title (14.63), and Pima's Hannah Droeg won the women's 100 hurdles (15.09).

In the women's 400m hurdles Pima's Tyra Christean (1:04.89) tool home the crown while teammate Jacob Applegate (52.91) took home the men's crown in the event.

Glendale's Tyreeq Jones added a title in the men's 200 (21.24), while Central Arizona's Mickayla Gardener completed a sprint double, winning the women's 200 (23.93) and 400 (56.08). Pima's Taylor Brown won the men's 400 (46.47).

In the longer events, Mesa's Caden Hardison captured the men's 800 (1:53.38), while Mesa's Lucy Melzer won the women's 800 (2:13.94). Central Arizona's Emmanuel Simiyu took the men's 1500 (3:57.98), and Pima's Sofia Cambridge won the women's 1500 (4:59.36).

Pima continued its distance success with Brent Clark winning the men's 3000-meter steeplechase (10:14.60), while Central Arizona's Lillian Kamm took the women's steeple (12:23.55). Central Arizona also saw Carson Wetzel (15:06.07) and Joyce Hernandez (19:21.78) win the men's and women's 5000 meter races.

In the field events, Mesa had a strong showing. Dylan Smith won the men's discus (46.87m), while Maleah Tucker swept the women's discus (40.74m) and hammer throw (49.04m). Glendale's Noah Brezina claimed the men's hammer (54.30m).

Mesa's DeAndre Gatlin won the men's high jump (2.02m), while Central Arizona's Vinae Buford-Stillman took the women's title (1.53m). Mesa's Holden Bundy won the men's javelin (60.29m), and Paradise Valley's Jaeleigha Abalos won the women's javelin (39.63m).

Mesa's Camden Ehrlich captured the men's long jump (7.02m), while Pima's Cayla Jones won the women's long jump (5.50m). Pima's Mason Hessier (14.49m) and Kymia Bridgett (12.12m) swept the triple jump titles.

Mesa's Michael Mickelson cleared 5.10m to win the men's pole vault, while teammate Paige Hanchett took the women's title (3.61m). In the shot put, Mesa's Asher Pindar won the men's competition (13.57m), and Pima's Elizabeth Ugwu claimed the women's title (13.37m).

Relay events rounded out the meet with Glendale winning the men's 4x100 (40.02). Central Arizona swept the remaining relays, taking the women's 4x100 (46.02), men's 4x400 (3:13.70), and women's 4x400 (3:57.66).
