It was a rough beginning for ACCAC women's basketball in its return from the COVID-19-caused ten-month layoff as Arizona Western lost all of its season-opening road trip to Utah.

The Matadors were the only conference school to open last week. They dropped their first game at Eastern Utah, 71-70, in a heart-breaker. Faith Silva led the way for AZW  with 23 points while Teresa DeSilva added 14.

  The following day it was all Salt Lake in an 86-30 win.

 A day later the Matadors retuned to Eastern Utah and fell, 83-60.
