Eastern Arizona inches ahead in ACCAC women's basketball

  Eastern Arizona ran its winning streak to six and drew a little further into first place in ACCAC women's basketball with two victories last week.

  The Gila Monsters (10-1, 8-1) topped Cochise twice during the week. In the first contest, a 64-42 win, Catalina Ferriera scored 11 points and Isis Smith added 10.

  On the road, EAC won 77-59. In that one Ferriera popped in 17 more points and Ajae Yoakum contributed 16. Both had nine rebounds.

  In the week's other game, Central Arizona (4-2, 4-2) tried to keep paced with a 60-45 win over Arizona Western. Denali Hughes led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds and Senya Rabouin scored 11. Teresa DaSilva was the only player in double figures for the Matadors, scoring 10.
