Central Arizona closes women's basketball gap on Eastern Arizona

  Eastern Arizona maintained its ACCAC women's basketball lead despite dropping its only league game of the week.

  The Gila Monsters are 8-2 in conference play and 12-2 overall, while Central Arizona is now 5-2 and 6-2.

  The Vaqueras closed the gap with EAC a little with a 77-61 win at home Tuesday. CAC got a huge game from Denali Hughes who led everyone with 27 points and 12 rebounds. Seairra Hughes added 17 points and ten rebounds while Senya Raboin also scored 17. EAC was led by Nadira Eltayeb who scored 13 and took down 10 boards. Ajay Yoamum contributed 12 points, Catarina Ferriera had 11 and Susi Namoa 10.

  Eastern also had a non-conference win over Pima, 76-67, as Namoa poured in 28 and Ferriera 21. Pima saw Keera Felix come off the bench to score 14 and Luisayde Chavez add 13.

  Central's only other game of the week was a non-conference win on the road over Pima, 102-68. In that one, Denali Hughes remained red-hot, pouring in 36 points on 12-18 shooting and adding ten rebounds. Rabouin contributed 17 points. Pima was paced by Mackenzie Kinsel who scored 13.
