Eighth-seeded Illinois Central defeated ninth-seeded Pima, 77-67, Tuesday at the NJCAA Division II Women's Basketball Championship, dropping the Aztecs into the consolation bracket.
Pima will face North Platte (Neb.) Thursday at approximately 11 a.m. Arizona time.
PCC scored the game's opening basket but quickly fell behind. They trailed, 41-31 at halftime.
Fama Thiam was the only Aztec to score in double figures with 18 points.
Illinois Central, ranked sixth in Division II, is 18-2. Pima is now 3-4 in its COVID-19 shortened season.
