Only three teams remain unbeaten in ACCAC women's basketball play after a holiday-shortened week. Central Arizona, Scottsdale and Mesa have all won their first few games in conference play.
CAC is unbeaten overall at 8-0 and has won three league games. The Vaqueras actually won three times last week beginning with a 64-49 win over Cochise. In that one, reigning ACCAC Player of the Year Denali Hughes led with 22 points and added 12 rebounds. Tatjana Tatar scored 11 off the bench to pace CC with 11 points. Central also had a pair of wins at the Arizona Western Thanksgiving Classic. First, CAC topped Snow, 76-60, as Mya India Thomas came off the bench to lead the way with 20 points. Sierra Hughes contributed 14 points and Senya Rabouin 13. Then Central knocked off North Idaho, 81-55, as Sierra Hughes went 10-16 for 23 points and Denali Hughes added 18 on 8-12 shooting
Scottsdale also still hasn't lost, holding a 7-0 mark with two of the wins in conference play following an 80-54 victory over Chandler-Gilbert. Lael Bowser and Alayna Benvaides-Johnson each tallied 16 points with Ashten Martinez one of three players recording double-doubles with 15 points and ten rebounds. The other two were Halle Payne who scored ten and pulled in 12 boards and Bowser who added ten rebounds to her 16 points.
Mesa is 2-0 in league play and 4-1 overall after a 70-41 win at South Mountain.
In addition, Pima topped Phoenix, 71-51, as Nikya Orange recorded a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds. Arizona Western won three non-conference games. Alliance Ndiba and Kristol Ayson each scored 18 in a 70-40 win over Copper Mountain, Ayson added 16 more in a 65-29 victory over North Idaho and AWC beat Snow, 57-36 with Christeina Bryan leading the way with 14.
