Central Arizona, Scottsdale, remain atop women's basketball standings

  Central Arizona (8-0, 3-0) and Scottsdale (7-0, 2-0) are the only two ACCAC women's basketball teams that remain undefeated in conference play although for both staying unbeaten last week wasn't very hard. Neither played a game. In fact, SCC won't play another league game again until Dec. 21 when it will host Eastern Arizona.

  Meanwhile, three teams have just one ACCAC loss each – Pima, Arizona Western and Mesa,

  The Aztecs (8-2, 4-1) beat Glendale (2-8, 1-4) and Chandler-Gilbert (4-5, 2-3). In a 74-57 win over GCC Angela Addleman led with 18 points. In a 92-65 victory over CGCC, Matehya Aberle paced PCC with 17.

  Arizona Western picked up two wins during the week. Alliance Ndiba scored on a put-back with eight seconds to go to give AZW a 72-71 win over Cochise (3-5, 1-4). Ndiba had a 19-10 double-double while Teresa Da Silva scored 20. Tatjana Tatar and Rose Fuentes each led CC with 18 points. In a 56-43 win over Mesa (5-2, 3-1), Faith Silva led with 13 points and Ndiba added 11. Stacey Begay topped the T-Birds with 14.

  Prior to its loss to the Matadors, Mesa stopped Chandler-Gilbert (4-5, 2-3) 93-74 as Jayla Johnson led with a 20-13 double-double. Begay also added 15 points. Tianna McKinley and Sam Sibbert scored 13 each for CGCC.
