ACCAC Basketball Players of the Week - Week 9

Division I – Men's Player of the Week

Davon Jones – Cochise College

Jones earned DI Men's Player of the Week honors after a highly efficient performance in Cochise's 103–84 win over Glendale. He scored 21 points on 7-of-10 shooting (70%), going 7-for-7 at the free-throw line, while adding three rebounds, one steal, and one block in the victory.


Division I – Women's Player of the Week

Cecy Burruel – Cochise College

Burruel averaged 24.7 points per game across three matchups, highlighted by back-to-back standout outings against Pima. She posted 27 points on 10-of-20 shooting in the first meeting, then followed with 33 points and six rebounds in an overtime battle. She closed the week with 14 points in a win over Glendale. For the week, Burruel shot 54% from the field (27-of-50), 29% from three (5-of-17), and 75% from the line (15-of-20) while averaging 3 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game.


Division II – Men's Player of the Week

Brock Mendoza – Pima Community College

Mendoza powered Pima to a 4–0 week, averaging 17.0 points and 15.0 rebounds per game while shooting an outstanding 74.4% from the field (29-of-39). His week included performances of 28 points vs. Arizona Sol, 17 points vs. Chandler-Gilbert, and double-figure scoring in all four contests. He also totaled six assists, two steals, and eight blocks across the week, providing consistent production on both ends of the floor.


Division II – Women's Player of the Week

Melicia Nelson – Pima Community College

Nelson helped lead Pima to a 3–0 week, averaging 15.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, 7.3 assists, and 4.7 steals per game. She opened with 19 points, 10 rebounds, nine assists, and four steals in a win over Cochise, followed by 16 points, six rebounds, five steals, and six assists in the rematch. Nelson closed the week with 10 points, seven rebounds, five steals, and two blocks in a victory over Chandler-Gilbert. She shot 53.1% from the field (17-of-32) and 42.9% from three (3-of-7) during the stretch. This marks Nelson's second ACCAC DII Women's Basketball Player of the Week honor.
