Mesa captured the Region I Women's Golf Championship with a four-round team total of +210, separating from the field with consistent scoring each day. The Thunderbirds posted rounds of +43, +59, +52, and +56 to secure the title over South Mountain (+241), while Paradise Valley finished third (+581).
Individually, Mesa's Abree Germaine led from start to finish, earning medalist honors at +35. Germaine opened with a +10 and followed with rounds of +6, +13, and +6, maintaining control of the leaderboard throughout the event.
South Mountain's Lexi Tuinstra placed second at +40, while Mesa's Sara Sawyer finished third at +58 after a strong opening round. The Thunderbirds' depth proved decisive, placing four golfers inside the top five. Elina Beyer moved up the leaderboard to finish fourth at +59, and Annalise Kooner rounded out the top five at +67.
South Mountain added depth behind Tuinstra with Molly McDonald in sixth (+68), Elaina Hales in seventh (+70), and Madilyn Hongell finishing eighth at +71.
Mesa's ability to stack low scores across its lineup each round created separation early and allowed the Thunderbirds to control the tournament from start to finish en route to the Region I championship.
