Three begin conference women's soccer 2-0

Three teams won their first two conference contests as ACCAC women's soccer play got underway last week. Chandler-Gilbert, Mesa, and Cochise all got off to 2-0 league starts.

CGCC improved to 7-1 overall with victories over GateWay (5-0) and South Mountain (5-1). Sara Svoboda, Mariah Velarde, and Kenadi Green each scored twice for the Coyotes.

Mesa got a hat trick from Annabella Bara in a 5-1 win over South Mountain and also topped GateWay, 5-1, to improve to 6-2-1 for the year.

Cochise picked up a pair of one-goal wins. The Apaches built a 3-0 lead over Glendale and hung on for a 3-2 win and then blanked Phoenix, 1-0, on a goal by Kiara Villaescus in the 70th minute. CC is 3-4 in all matches.

Pima edged Paradise Valley, 2-1, in extra time in its only conference game of the week, as Reilly Marks got the game-winner five minutes into the first OT.
