The ACCAC women's soccer race comes down to the final day with Cochise having guaranteed itself the regular season title with a battle raging for the sixth Region I playoff spot.
The Apaches beat Pima, 1-0, to wrap up the regular season on a goal by Leticia Seabra in the 84th minute to improve to 8-4-2 and 7-0-2 in ACCAC play. They close the season hosting Scottsdale.
Paradise Valley, meanwhile, fell to 6-2-2 in league play when it fell to Mesa in the final minute of double-overtime on a goal by MCC's Annabella Bara. It was her second of the game. The Pumas are finished for the regular season.
The win kept the T-Birds playoff hopes alive. They are 5-4 in league play and deadlocked with Phoenix for the last spot in the regional. Mesa will conclude the season Wednesday at Chandler-Gilbert, while PC had 4-0 and 6-0 wins over GateWay and South Mountain last week and finishes Wednesday with a home match against Glendale. Scottsdale sits two points behind those two.
Pima, Chandler-Gilbert and Arizona Western are locked in a battle for the No. 2 spot and a first-round regional bye.
The Aztecs are 6-2-1 in conference play for 19 points, CGCC is 6-3 for 18 points and AWZ has 17 points on a 5-2-2 mark.
When league play concludes Wednesday PC hosts the Matadors and Chandler-Gilbert entertains Mesa.
