Phoenix, the No. 1 seed in the tournament, has advanced to the national championship game at the NJCAA Women's Soccer Championships with a 2-0 win over Jones Tuesday.
The Bears will meet the winner of a contest between No. 2 Holmes and No. 4 Heartland in the title game Wednesday at 4 p.m. Arizona time.
PC scored both of its goals in the second half. First, Anacel Valenzuela-Acosta tallied with an assist to Giselle Gonzalez in the 55th minute. Then Daizy Arredondo added some breathing room with a score in the 79th minute. This time the assist went to Kiana Miyazato.
Jennifer Alvillar made six saves while recording the shutout. Phoenix out-shot JCC, 7-6.
