Phoenix has won the NJCAA Division II Women's Soccer national championship after late heroics on both sides.
Jazmin Gonzalez scored an unassisted goal just 1:26 before the game would have gone into a penalty kick shootout to give top-ranked and undefeated Bears the title in a 2-1 victory over second-seeded Holmes.
Gonzalez' tally came after the Bulldogs' Olivia Deslatte sent the contest into OT with a score just 56 seconds from the end of regulation time.
PC took the lead, 1-0, on a Zalma Torres goal, with an assist from Anacel Valenzuela-Acosta in the 64th minute.
Jennifer Alvillar made wound up making saves in goal in the title contest.
Phoenix finished with a 14-0 record, while Holmes was 15-1-1.
