Fourth-seeded Pima advanced to the semi-finals of the NJCAA DII Women's Soccer Championship with a 3-2 win over No. 5-seed Holmes Wednesday in Wichita, Kan.
The victory means PCC will face fellow ACCAC member Phoenix in the semi-finals Friday at 12:30 p.m. MST.
The Aztecs (17-4) built a 3-1 lead and then held off HCC (14-4-2) to win the Pool D competition.
Caitlin Maher and Mari Acota gave PCC a 2-0 halftime lead, but Holmes scored just 53 seconds into the second half to narrow the margin.
Less than four minutes later Delaney Buntin put Pima on top, 3-1, and the Aztecs withstood another HCC goal about five minutes later.
