ACCAC volleyball is now in full swing and Glendale has gotten off to a 2-0 start.
The Gauchos won twice at the Arizona Western tournament, defeating Lee, 3-1, and Southern Nevada, 3-0. In the Lee match, Neeley Eves collected 14 kills while Carolyna Montez had 18 digs. In an easy win over Southern Nevada, Neeley had 10 more kills, as did Gracie Newbern. Jayda Chee and Emily Matacillas each contributed nine digs.
Mesa captured its first conference match of the year as it topped Phoenix, 3-1. Taylor Van Winkle paced MCC with seven kills and 19 digs. PC got 14 kills and 22 digs from Jessica Vargas.
Scottsdale and Arizona Western both started the season, 2-1. The Artichokes edged Chandler-Gilbert, 3-2, and beat Southern Nevada, 3-0, at the AZW tournament, but fell to Indian Hills, 3-0, at the same event. For the week, Savanah Davis had 14 kills and 11 blocks.
