Eastern Arizona and Arizona Western continue to lead the ACCAC volleyball standings, although both lost once last week, with Glendale and Chandler-Gilbert close behind.
EAC (4-1, 8-9) saw its five-match winning streak ended by red-hot Chandler-Gilbert after having extended that streak with a victory over AZW, 3-1. In the match with the Matadors, Taya Baldwin knocked home 17 kills with Raynee Norton contributing 15 digs. Anny Montano-Hurtado had 15 kills for Western with Daniela Jimenez-Paz adding 11. Natalia Slazvnska had 17 digs.
But Chandler-Gilbert (5-2, 10-2) then up-ended the Gila Monsters, 3-1. As the Coyotes won their seventh straight, Celestial Miller delivered 25 kills and Jazmyn Tate 24. Lindsey Yale added 20 digs and Tate had 15 as well. Larssen Anderson and Savannah White each contributed 13 kills for EAC with Norton digging out 18. Prior to its win over Eastern, CGCC topped Pima, 3-1, as Tate drilled home 21 kills and Miller 16. PCC got 12 kills from Andrea Vigil-German, while Avdalis Felex added 22 digs.
After its loss to Chandler-Gilbert, AZW (4-1, 10-5) stopped South Mountain, 3-0. Montano-Hurtado had eight kills and Alessandra Arellano ten digs.
Glendale (5-2, 12-2) kept pace with a 3-0 win over Scottsdale. Jayda Chee and Neeley Eves each had 10 kills with Chee adding 19 digs. Brooklyn Casey paced SCC with 14 kills, adding 13 digs. Kylie Ostrovsky chipped in with 21 digs.
