As the ACCAC volleyball season passes the halfway point four different teams all have six wins, but with varying numbers of losses.
Arizona Western, Scottsdale, Glendale and Chandler-Gilbert have all won six conference matches.
AZW has a slight edge with only one loss. It is 12-5 in all matches. Last week the Matadors swept Glendale and Pima. In a 3-0 win over Glendale, Western got 14 kills from Anny Montano-Hurtado and 13 digs from Natalia Slazynska. Alessandra Arellano added 11 digs. GCC was led by Neeley Eves with 12 kills and Carolyna Montez with 11 digs. AZW then topped Pima, 3-1, with Montano-Hurtado and Patrycja Rykala each slamming home nine kills and Arellano leading with 13 digs.
Scottsdale has two league losses and a 10-3 overall mark. The Artichokes have won their last three with wins over Chandler-Gilbert and Mesa. The 3-1 win over CGCC ended a seven-match winning streak for the Coyotes. In that one Kamilah Anderson and Brooklyn Casey had 12 and 11 kills respectively with Casey adding 20 digs. Kylie Ostrovsky contributed 18 digs and Shauna Rath 17. For CGCC, Celestial Miller drove home 25 kills and Jazmyn Tate added 15. Lindsey Yale had 25 digs. SCC then beat Mesa, 3-0, as Rath knocked home 12 kills and Casey chipped in with 15 digs.
Glendale (6-3, 13-3) followed its loss to AZW with a 3-0 victory over Phoenix. In that one Gracie Newbern led with 15 kills and Eves had 11. Jayda Chee dug out 14 balls. For the Bears, Jessica Vargas led the way with 11 kills and Daiya Jovel had 10 digs.
CGCC (6-3, 11-3) got started on a new winning streak after falling to Scottsdale by topping South Mountain 3-0. Miller again led the way with 20 kills and Tate added 16 plus a team-leading 14 digs.
