The Eastern Arizona Gila Monsters and Scottsdale Fighting Artichokes won the NJCAA Region I, Div. I and Div. II titles for volleyball this past weekend.

NJCAA Region I, Div. I Recap

In the championship match between EAC and Arizona Western, the Gila Monsters were able to pull off a dominating win over the Lady Matadors, 3-0. EAC will play against Hill College (TX) in Hillsborough, TX for the Southwest B District Championship tonight.

NJCAA Region I, Div. II Recap

On the first day, Glendale def. Chandler-Gilbert and SCC def. South Mountain. On day two, CGCC eliminated SMCC and GCC def. SCC to give them their first loss on the season.

SCC was able to def. CGCC later that day to move on to the title game in a rematch against GCC. On the third and final day, SCC def. GCC twice to win their third straight region title and punch their ticket to the NJCAA Div. II Tournament in Cedar Rapids, IA, from Nov. 17 - 19.
